As I was singing the song “Ruins” by Maverick City, I had a picture come to mind.
I saw all of the pain from the past: the repercussions of past abuse, loss, and disappointment. It all looked like crumbled buildings and dead ashes on the ground. Then I saw a seed planted in the middle. And a green plant sprouting from the seed.
No one else on earth can bring life from what’s already dead but our God.
Not only is He with us in it all, but He is planting seeds of hope and joy in the middle of our pain and disappointment. And He’s bringing life and beauty from the ashes, rebuilding what was broken, and restoring what was stolen.
