Reflecting the Love of Christ

How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!
Psalm 133:1

Jesus calls us to love one another as He first loved us. But how often are we actually doing that with our words and actions? Over the past few months, I have had to look at my own heart and ask myself this question: Is what I am saying/doing reflecting the love of Jesus to others?

A dear friend of mine and I were talking the other day and she used an incredible analogy of a filter. Just like some of us use a filter with our water to sift out all the yucky stuff, we need to use a filter with our words. We need to put our words through the filter of Holy Spirit and if it doesn’t come out the same at the end, we shouldn’t be saying it!

Of course this does not mean that we have to be silent, but it does mean that we must consider how we’re approaching people, how we’re interacting with them and how we’re reflecting the love of Christ in the things that we say.

Sisters, we are called as children of God to live at a higher standard. So let’s do that.
