Healing Words

Every season holds so many unknowns. Sometimes I binge on information related to what I’m going through. I’ve been known to earn a DIY PhD thanks to YouTube, Pinterest and (insert your go-to resource here). While I find a level of comfort in feeling prepared, it’s limited and temporary. The Father knows me and He knows I’ll do this. I believe in part it’s how He designed me but when that trait is taken to an extreme to the point of excluding Him then I’m in dangerous territory. He also knows I’ll come around and by His Spirit He reroutes my attention back to Truth. All my knowledge won’t bring me the deep relief I’m longing for, only the Holy Trinity does that, the Father that loves me, the Son that redeems me and the Spirit that leads me.

To identify the “this” in Proverbs 3:8 we can go a few verses before the writer says, “This will be healing for your body and strengthening for your bones.” Basically, trusting the Father and not (to put it in modern terms) the Google, or Youtube etc.

If you’re like me, you wrestle with uncertainty. Recently I was having anxious thoughts about our changing family dynamics and this is what I felt stir in my spirit: “We don’t need to know everything, just the things that matter.”

What are the things that matter in light of the kingdom? Friends, I hope you include this question in your prayers today as you lean into Him and not your own understanding. He’s listening and He’s got healing words for you.
